Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box – October Unwind Box *

A few weeks ago I was contacted by the lovely Paula from Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box to ask if I’d like to try out the October box and review it for you guys. I’ve seen these boxes floating around the internet (especially from Sandra at Beauty Balm), so I was really excited to be contacted! I of course said yes and eagerly awaited it to arrive. It was pretty good timing as it arrived the week after my birthday and it was like an extra birthday present 🙂

Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box is a luxurious clean beauty and cruelty free beauty box. They offer a collection of carefully picked natural, organic, non-toxic and cruelty free products that are free from parabens, SLS, phthalates, petrochemicals, sulphates, silicones and GM ingredients. Each month you receive 5 products in a mix of full and travel size from artisan brands as well as bigger beauty brands, all wrapped in gorgeous, eco-friendly packaging. There are various subscription offers to choose from, as well as a vegan subscription which won’t contain any honey or beeswax and those products will be substituted for something vegan friendly. Each month’s box has a theme and the products are carefully picked around that theme. Paula has really put a lot of thought into every aspect of these boxes and I’m really impressed by all the little details that have been taken into account.

The theme for this month’s box is Unwind. Such a great choice for the turn of the season when everything can get a little stressful! The first thing I noticed about this box is that it smelt amazing! I could smell it before I’d even opened it and it was the most gorgeous lavender scent – perfect for the box’s theme. Each box comes with an information leaflet, telling you about all the different products. This month’s had exclusive discount codes of the brands that were featured too, which is such a brilliant touch. I’m pretty sure you get discount codes every month, but this is the only one I’ve had so don’t quote me! There were 5 gorgeous products in my box and I’ve given them all a little test over the last few days so that I can give you my initial feedback on each one.

Vee Beauty LDN Hair and Scalp Oil

My scalp is the bane of my life! I struggle so much with a dry, itchy scalp and I’m still trying to find the right haircare products to help it (if you have any suggestions please leave them in the comments!). Hence to say I was very excited when I saw this in the box. I’ve used this twice now – once as a hair oil and once on my scalp. Both times I’ve been so impressed with the results. On my scalp it instantly soothed any itching and it sank in really well, which stopped any dry skin forming. It wasn’t hard to wash out in the shower either which was great! On the ends of my hair it made any frizziness disappear straight away. This is definitely the star of the box for me!

The Wild Mix Blue Camo Cooling Mask

This came in its own little packaging within the box and is so cute. I believe this is a special sample size made especially for the Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box, which is just adorable! I’ve only tried this once but so far I love it. It includes blue chamomile and lavender to help you relax and ‘unwind’! I really enjoyed watching TV whilst it worked it’s magic and once I’d removed it my skin felt really clean and fresh. I can’t wait to use this again soon!

Ethically Organic Anti-Ageing Face Oil

I’ve tried this a few times over the past few days and have been pretty impressed. It’s more of a dry oil, so is perfect for use at night or in the morning. It sinks in quickly and I find that I can easily use it as a base under make up too. It made my skin super soft and nourished for a few hours after applying, which is great. I can’t comment on the long term effects but first impressions are really good!

No Secrets Four Shower Cream

In general I tend to use soap in the shower, so I find creams to be that little more luxurious when I do use them. This one is very luxurious in that it contains cocoa and shea butter along with ylang ylang, geranium, neroli, patchouli and lavender essential oils. It smells really nice and I love how it made me feel nice and relaxed whilst I was in the shower. There are several shower creams in the range depending on the vibe you are looking for.

Buttery Bar Soapery Bath Salts

Butter Bar Soapery Soothe Bath Salts
I love a nice bath but I don’t have as many as I’d like to, as our bath is a bit small. Therefore when I do make the effort to have one then it has to be special. I haven’t used these yet, but I have a feeling that these will definitely make a special bath! These are what I could smell when I first opened the box and they are making my bathroom smell so lovely, without even using them! I love the smell of lavender and these 100% natural lavender scented bath salts are right up my street.

At £21.00 (+£3.95 postage and packaging) a month I’m so impressed with the quality of this box. I love that they are all brands that I’d not heard of before and I’ve made some great new discoveries. It’s great to see some different brands featured from the main green beauty giants and I think that is the main selling point for me with the Skin Organics Clean Beauty Box – I love finding smaller, independent brands and Paula has done all that for us! Thank you so much to Paula for sending me this box to review – I am absolutely in love! I can’t recommend subscribing to this box enough.
