I had meant to post this last month but I didn’t quite get it finished before I fell ill. Better late than never though ey?! Anyway on to my review of the Vestige Verdant Organic Peat Face Mask *. I was kindly sent this to review by Love Lula last month and after a month of using this twice a week I’ve managed to get a good idea of how I feel about it.
Vestige Verdant was founded on the idea that luxury skincare must provide health benefits as well as addressing beauty concerns. They create effective, organic products that address the daily needs of your skin. I really love this quote from their website: ‘We believe your body is a temple that should not be painted with lead’. How true! All of their products are free from harmful and unsafe ingredients and their certified organic ingredients are carefully processed to ensure the natural health and beauty benefits aren’t diluted. The Organic Peat Mask was made after a decade of research and aims to keep skin fresh and glowy. It’s also designed to heal allergic and overly sensitive skin, boost blood circulation, decrease greasiness and acne and restore the natural pH level of healthy skin. I had high hopes for this, as it sounds great for anyone with blemish prone skin – which I suffer with on my chin.
The mask itself is really lovely. It’s a little messy to apply but I think I’ve gotten the hang of it now – I make sure to apply in small amounts to lessen the amount that falls in the sink! I really must invest in a masking brush. I like to leave it on for slightly longer than the recommended 3 minutes, as I feel it needs more time to work on my skin, but I don’t recommend this for everyone – it’s best if you follow the instructions on the packet first and then make your own decision whether to leave it on for longer or not. I usually just rinse it off with warm water and then I’m done, but I have removed this with a flannel before to add a bit of exfoliation too. It has a nice effect but it was a pain to get out of my flannel!! My skin always feels really refreshed after using this. It never feels tight or dry but does feel super clean. I love a mask that really feels as if it’s really got to work and this one is definitely that. After a few weeks of using it twice a week I can see that my skin is looking generally brighter and it’s had a calming effect on my blemishes.
I love that it has only two pure ingredients, but it does make me wonder whether it’s worth the high price tag. £39 is a lot of money for a face mask and I do wonder whether organic peat & water is worth it? Personally I wouldn’t buy this, unless it was on offer maybe, but I do like it and it does have a great effect on my skin. If you can spare the cash then definitely go for it.
