The Perfect Red Lip for the Holidays *

Emani Lipstick

I hope you all had a great holiday, however you celebrate. I wanted to share one last post with you this year before we embark on a brand new year. Before the holidays I wanted to treat myself to a new lipstick to wear on Christmas day. We always dress up for Christmas day and I like to make a bit of an effort with my hair and make up and on my recent browse through Love Lula I saw the Emani Prismatic Duo Tone Lip Colour in Bewitched (Wine & Burgundy) * I was intrigued by the idea of two shades in one and knew I had to try it out.

Emani Vegan Cosmetics is a brand that was founded by Michelle Doan. Michelle suffered from cystic acne and sensitive skin and after trying various treatments and make up it just got worse. She spent over a decade searching for a solution by visiting her dermatologist ad trying various treatments and products, but all were too harsh for her sensitive skin. After being completely fed up with mainstream products not working for her, Michelle created her first foundation in her kitchen! The rest as they say is history. Michelle knows that women don’t just want natural make up, but natural make up that makes them feel fabulous and that’s Michelle’s aim with Emani. Founded in Huntingdon Beach, California in 1998, Emani has been perfecting the art of make up for the last 20 years. They aim to be the ultimate look great, feel beautiful company by treating make up as if it is skincare – they utilize ingredients such as vitamin c, hyaluronic acid, organic oils and plant extracts and all of their products are of course vegan!

Emani Lipstick Swatch

I’d had my eye on this brand for a while, so when it came to picking a new lipstick I immediately looked towards Emani. I like darker shades for winter, so deep reds and plums are my best friends. Emani Prismatic Duo Tone Lip Colour in Bewitched (Wine & Burgundy) * is a 4 way lipstick. It has 2 colours that can be worn alone, mixed to make a 3rd colour or the darker shade can be applied to the outside of the lip and the lighter to the inside to make a balayage effect. I’m sure there are so many other ways to wear this too, and I love that you can create so many different looks with one lipstick. At £22 it’s not a cheap product, but considering that you can make lots of different combinations with it I think it’s really cheap! These lipsticks are infused with natural oils and waxes to create long wearing pigment that also hydrates and smooths lips. I’ve worn this a couple of times over the holidays and I find that it’s a lovely plumy shade. It’s really comfortable to wear and doesn’t dry out my lips at all – although it doesn’t last as long as some of my matte lipsticks, it still lasts a good few hours without eating. I also find that it’s easy to reapply and doesn’t cake the lips. I really love this lipstick and would love to try some other colours from the range.

I hope you all have a great New Year and I’ll be back next year with some new posts and some new, exciting brands to share with you.

See you in 2019!
