First Impressions of Alexa Sky Botanicals New Alpine Cellular Complex Eye Balm / AD

ASB Eye Balm

This post contains gifted items from Alexa Sky Botanicals which have been marked with *. The company has provided them for review but have not had any control of this post. All opinions are 100% my own.

Alexa Sky Botanicals has always been a brand that has intrigued me. When I first read about them and found that they use crystals in their skincare I knew I had to try their products. Last year I was lucky enough to try their Moroccan Rose Clay Mask * and Zen Mist Facial Essence Toner * which have both become staples in my routine. You can read my full thoughts on those products here, along with a little history about ASB as a brand, but in short I love them both! Therefore I was very excited when the lovely Alexandra got in touch with me and asked if I wanted to work with the brand. Of course I jumped at the chance and I am now a proud Alexa Sky Botanicals Resident Blogger 😊.

So for my first post since becoming a resident blogger I am reviewing their new Alpine Cellular Complex Eye Balm *. It was only a couple of weeks ago that I was thinking that I really should start using an eye cream religiously – I’m approaching the big 3 0 and eye cream is the one place I slack on with my beauty products. Low and behold a couple of days later Alexandra got in touch to ask if I would like to try their new eye balm – that’s manifesting at it’s finest! Now I just need to keep thinking about winning the lottery 😉 ! Anyway, back to business. This is a first impressions review as I only received the product last Wednesday, but I’ve used it every day since so that I can give you my initial thoughts.

The ingredients list is a good one. It uses Arnica Flower Oil for it’s anti-inflammatory properties, Avacado Fruit Oil to improve elasticity of the skin, Cucumber Fruit Oil to prevent fine lines and wrinkles, Macadamia Nut Oil to slow the signs of ageing, Mango Butter to soften the skin and protect it from the environment and Silica which includes light reflecting particles to give a luminous glow. And of course my favourite part of this balm is that it’s charged with Rose Quartz crystals to encourage love and acceptance of ourselves as well as carrying a soothing energy. Anyone who knows me knows that I love my crystals and one of the main reasons I love this brand so much is because they charge all their products with crystals!

ASB Eye Balm with spatula

I have been using this for just under a week now and am really enjoying it. I love the texture of it and it’s so easy to apply. I like to use my third finger to gently rub the balm into my under eye area and then up towards my brow bone – I don’t use it on my lids. Because it’s a balm it smooths on really gently and doesn’t tug at the delicate skin around your eyes. It comes with a spatula, but I personally don’t think I’ll use it as you really only need a tiny amount of product to cover both under eye areas. I like to rub my finger in it instead to warm it up and then apply what’s on my finger. I find that it sinks in quickly and doesn’t leave an oily residue, which surprised me as I fully expected this to sit on top of my skin. My under eye area feels really smooth and nourished after using this and it doesn’t feel tight or dry. As this is my first eye balm I was a little sceptical of how it would sit under make up – I thought I would only be able to use it at night – but alas I was wrong! Instead of it being greasy and sitting on top of my skin, it sinks in super quickly and the light reflecting particles actually make my dark circles look 10 times better, so I’m finding that I don’t need as much concealer now. My concealer is sitting in place all day and doesn’t slip at all, which is amazing! I do make sure to let it fully sink in before I apply make up though.

I can’t discuss long term effects of this I’m afraid, as I haven’t used it enough, but first impressions are amazing! It’s a joy to apply and feels so moisturising on the skin. I also love how it brightens up my dark circles and makes them much less noticeable. A big thumbs up from me. Another good thing about this eye balm is that you don’t have to use it just on your eyes. It can also be used as a lip balm, to tame eyebrows, to nourish cuticles or to soothe any dry patches. I’ve used this as a lip balm and to tame my eyebrows and it does work great for both! It’s an amazing multipurpose product. You can shop the Alpine Cellular Complex Eye Balm * on Alexa Sky Botanicals’ site here. I’ve loved all the bits I’ve tried from them so far and they’re definitely a brand you should check out if you haven’t already.
