Love Lula Beauty Box – May Review / AD

Love Lula Beauty Box May

This post contains gifted items from Love Lula which have been marked with *. The company has provided them for review but have not had any control of this post. All opinions are 100% my own.

It’s time to review another Love Lula Beauty Box *. I can’t believe we’re in May already! Last month’s wasn’t for me unfortunately, but I’m pleased to report that this month’s is so much better. Read on to find out what was in it. As always this is a first impressions review of the products as I’ve only had them a few days.

JOIK Silky Lip Balm in Pastel Pink – £6.00

This was the first thing to come out of the box and go straight in my bag – I actually used it the day the box arrived! I love make up products in the boxes and am really glad that we’re seeing more of them this year. We got shade Pastel Pink which is a gorgeous pink/nude colour that I feel will suit most skin tones. On me it’s a my lips but better shade, so perfect for when I want to exaggerate my own lips a little. I also feel like it’s more of a lipstick that a lip balm, because it’s a little drier than most lip balms. It’s comfortable to wear because it’s a glossy finish, but it doesn’t last a very long time as it is only a lip balm. I got around 2/3 hours of wear out of this before it had disappeared, but for a lip balm I don’t expect much more than that.

Madara Re:gene Volume Rebuild Lifting Mask – £35.00

This is a lovely product. I’ve actually been thinking that I need to get a nourishing mask soon and then this one popped up! It says it’s for lifting, plumping and wrinkle smoothing, but personally it makes my skin so soft! It does have a bit of a plumping effect too, but I can’t speak for the wrinkle smoothing I’m afraid. You apply it all over your face and then you can either wipe it off after 10 minutes or you can leave it on. When I first used it I saw that it was a grey colour and I wondered how I’d leave it on if it was going to turn all my clothes and bed sheets grey, but if you rub it in it does disappear and sink into the skin. It doesn’t sink into the skin completely though and it’s a little tacky when you touch it, but personally I like this as I feel like my skin is protected by the mask that way. I left this on for a few hours before bed and then applied my night cream over the top which gave me lovely smooth skin in the morning.

Seascape Island Apothecary Refresh Hand Lotion – £16.00

I’ve seen that a lot of people weren’t too pleased with this product but I thought it was fab. I love full size products in beauty boxes and this one is huge! I love hand creams and should really use them more often, so this one is either going in my bathroom or on my bedside table to use every night before bed. It made my skin lovely and soft and even though it does take a little while to sink in, I don’t mind because I’m only going to bed after. I love that it has a handy pump to just squirt and go (that sounds gross, but you know what I mean!) and I know that it will mean I use it so much more.

Ayumi Sandalwood Body Scrub – £6.99

I’ve not actually heard of this brand before, so I was excited to see them in the beauty box this month. We get a lot of the same brands in the boxes, so it’s always a welcome change to see new ones. I’m actually testing out another body scrub right now for another post that’s coming soon, so I’ve only given this a quick test, but I liked it. It’s quite a fine scrub so it does take a little work to get it to exfoliate well, but I really like to feel as if my skin has had a good layer of skin taken off it. I’d say this is so gentle that you could probably use it every day if you wanted to. The tube is also huge, so it will last a good while.

Vestige Verdant Organic Peat Facial MaskFull Review

If you’ve read my other Love Lula Beauty Box posts then you’ll know I’m not a fan of samples in beauty boxes and these seem to be unavoidable this year unfortunately. However, I have the full size of this product and I do love it. It’s a lovely face mask that really makes my skin feel refreshed and clean. I did a full review before, which is linked above for you. The other products in the box this month more than make up for this one!

I was much happier with this month’s box, but I suppose that’s the thing about beauty boxes – you’re not always going to be happy with every single one. This month’s was a great one for me though and I’m very impressed with all the products (bar the sample!). For £14.95 a month all the boxes are great value for money and you can even sign up for several months at a time to make them even cheaper!
