Gallinee Haircare

This month Love Lula very kindly sent me some Gallinee haircare products to try, that they’ve recently released. I’ve tried their skincare range before (brand information and reviews here) and was really impressed, so I was really excited to try something for my hair. I received the Prebiotic Scalp and Hair Serum* and the Prebiotic Soothing Cleansing Cream * and put them to work as soon as they arrived.

Gallinee is a bit of a different brand as they use a patented complex of prebiotics, probiotics and lactic acid. They were the first brand I came across that uses these in their skincare and I think other brands are slowly starting to catch on now too. I found their skincare worked great, so let’s see if it works as well in haircare.

Gallinee Prebiotic Soothing Cleansing Cream * – £23.00

This is aimed at soothing irritated scalps whilst leaving hair shiny and healthy. I must admit that I wasn’t too sure whether to use this instead of a shampoo or as well as, so I opted to use it after I’d shampooed my hair – a double cleanse can’t really be a bad thing once in while after all. After shampoo I massage this into my scalp and then take it through to the ends. I leave it for a couple of minutes, wash it out with warm water and then I apply my normal conditioner to the ends of my hair. I’ve done this a few times now and unfortunately for me I just can’t seem to see a difference.

Admittedly my scalp isn’t going through a dry phase at the moment, so I’ll try it again when it gets bad, but for me I just don’t see a difference in my scalp and it doesn’t feel any different either. The ends of my hair do feel a little softer but nothing to write home about really. Maybe I’m using it wrong, or maybe it is specifically for someone with a dry scalp but for £23.00 I wouldn’t repurchase this. I think I’m going to save the rest of my bottle for when my scalp starts flaking and try it again, so if there is any difference I’ll update this post and let you all know. As of now though, this isn’t for me.

Gallinee Prebiotic Scalp and Hair Serum * – £24.00

This is my favourite of the 2 by far. I love that it has a squirty applicator, as I really hate having sticky hands! I always like to have my hands feeling fresh and clean (which is why I struggle finding a good hand cream all the time) so anything that requires me to get my hands dirty with product is usually too much effort for me. Facial skincare I can do, but hair serums, oils or anything greasy is always a bit hard.

Therefore this is perfect! It has a spray top and I like to spray this all over my hair after toweling off any excess water, while my hair is still damp. That way I find that it doesn’t make my hair greasy at all, just nourished and smooth. I like to let my hair air dry, which naturally gives it more frizz anyway, but it is noticeably less when using this. I find that it dries straighter too, although it may just seem like it as it’s more streamlined! My hair has been loving this, but I do find that I need to spray quite a bit on the ends as it drinks it up. I do have bleached hair though.

I like to leave this on my hair but the instructions say that you can also use it as an overnight treatment by spraying it all over hair and scalp and letting it soak in before washing out in the morning or you can use it after your shampoo in the shower and then rinse it out with cold water. I haven’t done the second one but the first is a great treatment and made my hair feel soft for days afterwards. This is a great serum that makes my hair feel soft and look a lot sleeker. And the spray pump in a bonus!

Gallinee is a very underrated natural brand if you ask me. I’d not heard of them before being sent their last lot of skincare and now I’m hooked. The cleanser wasn’t for me unfortunately but I’m in love with the serum and am already looking to buy another one once this one has ran out. Their skincare is also great and I’d definitely recommend a browse of that. You can buy Gallinee products from Love Lula here.
