You guys know how much I love Alexa Sky Botanicals products and the latest one I’ve had the pleasure of adding to my routine is no exception. This is sort of a mini post from me today, as I’ve only had this for a week so far, but I wanted to give you a quick first impressions review. Let me introduce you to the Skin Metamorphosis 24K Gold Elixir *.
First of all how pretty is it? It has actual flakes of gold in it that you can see swimming around. I’ve never seen a product like this before. I immediately had to try it out on my hand to see how the gold flakes work and I found that they disappear into the skin when rubbed in.
The gold is used to create a rich glow and make the skin look healthy, fresh and radiant. The elixir also includes Blueberry oil to repair skin damage, Papaya oil to nourish and rejuvenate, Electric daisy extract (nature’s botox in a bottle) for reducing fine lines and wrinkles by relaxing the muscles in the face and Marine algae extract to stimulate collagen production.
This oil is a great all rounder. It combats dry skin, ageing skin, damaged skin and dull skin, making it perfect for a multitude of people. I’ve been using this at night before bed for the past week now and I love how it makes my skin feel. It’s nourished and supple and feels comfortable.
You can also use this as a primer for make up, as your daily moisturiser or as a highlighter. I’m going to be trying these uses out over the next few weeks and I’ll report back.
I was pretty surprised at how well this sinks in. I find that most oils don’t totally sink into the skin and always leave a small layer on top, but this one actually sinks in altogether. It leaves my skin feeling plumped and smooth, but also completely dry and not greasy.
I feel like my skin is really enjoying this and my skin always looks really bright and nourished once I’ve used it. It really is glowy skin in a bottle! So far it hasn’t given me any breakouts, which is good, but I’ll need to test it for longer to see if this changes over time.
So first impressions are great and I’m looking forward to seeing how this is going to affect my skin over the next few weeks. I’ll try and update this post with some more detail in a few months time.
