A Cosy Time at The Cosy Club / AD

A couple of weeks ago I was very kindly invited to go and try out some food and cocktails at The Cosy Club in Coventry town centre, with the Cov Bloggers. I’ve been here once before for food and a few times for drinks, so was already a fan of the place but it was nice to go back again and try something from their new menu this time.

The Cosy Club is in Cathedral Lanes, where Waterstones used to be (for all of you who remember that far back, like I do!) and it’s a great location. If you fancy stopping by at lunch or for an evening meal, it’s super easy to get to and is surrounded by shops, bars and pubs. We were all made really welcome by the staff and were seated at a long table inside, next to the terrace.

Cosy Club Eton Mess Cocktail

We had a great waiter come over and talk us through all their new cocktails. He did a fantastic job of describing them all and answered all our questions easily. He also pointed out which ones weren’t suitable for people with dairy intolerances, which was a great addition. There are several new cocktails to try, including an Eton Mess, White Sangria, Rhubarb & Elderflower Spritz (which has glitter in it!) & Cosy Colada (a cosy take on my favourite cocktail). My favourties were the Eton Mess and Sangria. The Eton Mess was quite sweet though, so if you’re not into sweet drinks then I’d give it a miss. Or order one just for the photo opportunity as it’s a very instagrammable drink – just look at that cute, little heart!

Cosy Club Cocktails

The servers were all amazing and did a great job with serving all our food and drink. The food all came out at the same time and was all piping hot, which was a great feat considering we were a pretty big group. Everyone was super friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. They definitely get 5 stars for service!

For starters I have the Roast Turmeric Cauilflower, which was nice. I thought it was probably a little bit too seasoned for my tastes as I like my Turmeric to be a bit milder, but it was still lovely. I probably wouldn’t have it again, but it was nice to try it.

Cosy Club Salmon Fishcake

I had the Hot Smoked Salmon Fishcake and it was delicious. I’m mainly a vegetarian, but every couple of months I like to mix it up a bit and have a bit of fish and when I saw the Salmon Fishcake I thought I’d try it. It came with a perfectly poached egg on top that was just the right side of runny and a load of rocket salad too. Unfortunately it doesn’t come with a side of anything, so if you order this I’d recommend ordering a side of fries too! Luckily Naz didn’t want all of her fries, so I pinched some of hers 😊.

I was very impressed to see a Beyond Meat Burger on their menu, as you don’t see many of these in Coventry. I was quite tempted to try this, but changed my mind at the last minute. It just gives me an excuse to go back now though!

Cosy Club Vegan Cheesecake & Trifle

For dessert I tried the Vegan Berry Cheesecake which was so tasty. It wasn’t quite the same as a normal cheesecake, but it’s a very good imitation. The berries added a nice tartness to the creamy ‘cheese’ and created a delicious mix of tastes. The base was appropriately crunchy and I was very impressed with this pudding. They also do a Vegan Trifle if that’s more your thing.

I had such an amazing time, eating great food, drinking amazing drinks and chatting away with everyone. I would say it’s pretty pricey for what you get, but as a treat I think this is a perfect spot. I love the relaxed, cosy (pun intended!) atmosphere and it’s perfect for a date night or a night out with friends. I love starting a night out here with cocktails and grabbing one of the comfy couches for a chat, before moving onto my favourite pub down the road. It sets a great atmosphere for the rest of the night.
