This post contains gifted items from Hempz and Alex Silver PR which have been marked with *. The company have provided them for review but have not had any control of this post. All opinions are 100% my own.
I’ve not had the privilege of trying any Hempz products before. I’ve seen them floating around on social media and people saying how good they are but I’ve not had the pleasure myself until now. I was very kindly sent a couple of products from their new Citrine Crystal & Quartz range and those of you who know me will know that combining crystals and beauty is a dream come true for me. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on these and try them out.
Hempz is a cruelty free company that use 100% organic Hemp Seed Oil. Their products are paraben free and gluten free and a lot of their products are also vegan, I believe. Hemp Seed Oil is rich in Vitamin E, C, B1, B2, B3 and B6, which is perfect for maintaining healthy skin and hair. They offer a wide range of beauty products from skincare to haircare.
The Citrine Crystal & Quartz range is infused with Quartz Dust to give skin a subtle, gem stone glow. I love the thought of wearing crystals on my skin and quartz is especially good for emotional well-being – it saves carrying crystals around in my bra! It also smells citrusy and I assume that all the products in the range will have this scent running through them.
Citrine Crystal & Quartz Moisturiser * – £7.00 for 65ml
This is such a cute little bottle! It’s the perfect size to test out the product before buying the bigger version and you also get a good amount for a few applications.
I have a love/hate relationship with moisturisers – I love how it makes my skin feel but I hate applying it, so I have certain criteria for a good moisturiser. It has to sink in quickly, be easy to apply (no standing around rubbing the same bit in for 10 minutes) and can’t be sticky at all. After trying this out for a few weeks I can report that this ticks all my criteria boxes.
It leaves skin soft, it sinks in quickly and it leaves an amazing glow on the skin, thanks to the Quartz Dust. I’ve been using this on any super dry patches I have too (cracked heels are not the one for summer!) and it’s done a great job at soothing any cracked skin. I still need to use a balm as well to get rid of it completely, but it’s a good start.
This smaller size is also brilliant to pop in your bag, whether for day trips or going on holiday. I really want to pick up the full size once I’ve ran out of this one – which wont be long with the frequency I’m using it!
Citrine Crystal & Quartz Hydrating Mist * – £15.99
Now this is the star of the show for me. The first time I used it I didn’t realise that it contained shimmer and sprayed it all over my work uniform – glitter does not go well with a polo shirt and safety boots! However, I was pleasantly surprised when it wore off my clothes throughout the day, so it wasn’t too embarrassing.
I next tried it directly on my skin and it gave it the most glorious sheen. It lasted a good few hours on my skin too, which was a bonus. I like to use this all over my skin as a last step of getting ready, just as I’m about to go out the door to add a little something extra to an outfit 😊. I can’t say that it’s super moisturizing on the skin, but I like it for the shimmer and scent.
Which brings me to: the smell is amazing! I can’t get enough of it. It smells like Fruit Salad sweets and takes me back to when I was little! The only downside is that the smell doesn’t stick around long enough – it wears off after about an hour, which is a bit disappointing.
Overall my first foray into Hempz skincare has been a success. The Citrine Crystal & Quartz range is right up my street and I need to try the other products in the range now. I especially like to use these products before a night out or an event as they make my skin shimmer as well as making me smell lovely!
They have several ranges out, so if this one doesn’t sound exactly like you then take a look at some of their other ones. I can imagine that they will all be great too! A massive thank you to Hempz and Alex Silver PR for sending me these goodies over to try and helping me find a new favourite brand!
