I love having nice nails. They’re the one thing that always makes me feel so put together. That and a tan! I just feel like I can tackle anything when my nails are done and I love that feeling. However, getting your nails done professionally can be a hassle and pretty expensive too – especially if you like to have them done all the time. I personally can’t justify the cost of having acrylics done every few weeks at the moment, so I save them for special occasions. Then in between those times I’ve recently taken to using these babies…
These are THE best thing since sliced bread in my opinion!
I must admit I was pretty sceptical at first. I’d heard lots of bad reviews about press on nails in the past and I’d seen a couple about imPRESS nails too – mainly saying that they don’t stay on very long and they easily flick off. So when I was gifted a set at a Coventry Bloggers event I thought I’d try them and just see what they’re like.
I was hooked from the first pair. I really didn’t expect that much, but they last 3 WEEKS! I’m so impressed – pun intended!! I definitely didn’t expect them to be that good and I was excited to try more, so I ran out to buy 4 more pairs myself. I was then very kindly gifted a couple of pairs too, so I’ve tried them a few times now.
The imPRESS nails are super easy to apply. You just find the right size for each nail, rub the included wipe over your nails, peel off the backing and press on. Finding the right sizes is what takes the longest time for me, but they do have little numbers on the tips to make it easier to match them up. After I’ve found the right sizes it takes just a few minutes to actually apply them. Super easy! One tip: make sure you press down really hard, as they have patented super-hold adhesive technology, so the harder you press the longer they will last.
Of the 4 pairs I’ve tried so far, all of them apart from one have lasted me 3 weeks and I’ve pulled them all off myself. I did have one pair that had 2 nails that kept flicking off, but I have to admit that I forgot to wipe the cleaner over my nails before that one, so that might have been why!
imPRESS nails come in all different colours and most sets include accent nails too. There is such a wide variety of sets that they have something for every mood. I’ve currently got the silver, gold and marble ones on and I’ve had so many compliments on them already! If you follow me on Instagam (Instagram.com/hazelnutmusings) then I’ll post some story updates about this pair over the next few days and how they’re holding up.
The one thing I love the most about these (other than looking AMAZING!) is that they don’t damage my nails. Acrylics are the devil for your natural nails and everytime they’re removed my nails are left in a very sorry state. They’re thin, brittle and damaged and take a lot of love and care to get them healthy again. With these it’s a completely different story.
You can just peel these off really easily and your nails will be fine! I usually find that I might have some glue left on my nails, but that’s easy to remove and then my nails are in exactly the same condition as before I applied them. Which also means that I’m happy to use them more often, instead of having to wait weeks for my nails to become strong enough again.
The only bad thing about these is that they can be quite annoying when they start to grow out and your hair starts to catch underneath them. I’ve googled and asked around to see if here is a way to stop this, but I haven’t found anything yet! I’m happy to put up with that for nice, easy nails though 😊
I recently found out that they do ones for your toe nails too! I haven’t tried these yet and I’m a little sceptical about whether they will fit my toe nails or not but I’ll give them a go and report back. If they’re anything like the others then I’m sure they’ll be great!
imPRESS nails are so good, I’d recommend everyone to try them! I absolutely love them and I was even debating using them for my wedding and honeymoon a couple of weeks ago. I think I’ve decided to get acrylics now, but I was definitely considering them. I think they’re great and I will definitely continue to use these for the foreseeable future. They’re only £7.99 for a set too and when they’re lasting 2 – 3 weeks I think that’s a bargain! I’m so glad that I gave these a go and have found a new favourite way to have easy, long-lasting, pretty nails 😊
