Ecodenta Toothpaste

This post contains gifted items from Ecodenta which have been marked with *. The company have provided them for review but have not had any control of this post. All opinions are 100% my own.

Ecodenta is a brand that has been on my radar for a while now. I tried their toothpastes a while ago and liked them but then I found others to try and I just never got around to getting anymore. So when they got in touch with me and asked if I wanted to try a couple of their products I was over the moon!

Ecodenta make natural toothpaste without harmful effervescent or abrasive ingredients. They’re enriched with eco-friendly plants to battle several mouth care problems including cranberry extract to fight bacteria and oak bark and bloodwort extract to calm and reduce bleeding gums amongst others. Ecodenta toothpastes contain Kalident, which is a natural source of calcium, to strengthen enamel and fill scratches so you don’t have to worry about these natural toothpastes weakening your teeth. Kalident has been scientifically proven to restore mineral constitution and help to avoid tooth decay.

All their toothpastes have been developed alongside the Lithuanian University or Health Sciences and evaluated by odontologists.

I was very kindly sent 2 of their new toothpastes to try and have been alternating them for the last few weeks.

Black Whitening Toothpaste * – £5.50

I always like to use a whitening toothpaste. I feel like my teeth have a bit of a yellow tinge to them, so I like to try and counteract that every day with my toothpaste. I’m sure that most of you will have heard about companies adding charcoal to toothpaste as a natural whitener and this one is no exception. It includes Black Charcoal + Teavigo to wipe out plaque and create long lasting freshness.

I really enjoy using this toothpaste and I have to say this one is my favourite out of the two. It makes my mouth feel super clean and my breath really fresh. I can’t say that I’ve noticed too much of a difference in the whitening department but I don’t usually notice it with other toothpastes either. Maybe with prolonged use I might see it more.

Having it mixed in with normal toothpaste makes the charcoal less abrasive than using loose activated charcoal and I like that I get the freshness from normal toothpaste, instead of having to mix charcoal with water and just being able to taste charcoal all day!

Cosmos Organic Anti-Plaque Toothpaste with Coconut Oil and Zinc Salt * – £7.50

This toothpaste is an anti-plaque toothpaste. The active ingredient is zinc salt that has an antibacterial effect and helps break down bacteria on the surface of teeth. Coconut oil is also included as a natural tooth whitener and breath freshener. Together with other ingredients they help to remove plaque and prevent interdental tartar forming, to give you healthy teeth.

I like this toothpaste but I don’t love it. It’s nice and seems to do the job but I find that it doesn’t make my mouth feel that fresh afterwards. My mouth feels clean enough, but I like to have that minty fresh feeling and I don’t get that with this one unfortunately. I still like it and I’ll finish the tube, but probably won’t give this another go.

One great thing about this toothpaste though, is that the whole thing is recyclable – even the tube! How awesome is that?! The Charcoal toothpaste tube isn’t recyclable unfortunately but the outer box is.

Natural toothpastes are on the way up and these are only 2 of the options from Ecodenta. They do a range of others for different needs so check them out here. Out of the two I’d definitely recommend the Charcoal one but if you’re not into super fresh toothpaste then I’d recommend the Coconut for you as it is a nice toothpaste. It’s nice to know that your toothpaste doesn’t have to contain chemicals like Flouride to be able to look after your teeth and if you’re looking for a natural toothpaste then look no further!
