This post is long overdue. I was very kindly sent these products before the wedding, but didn’t get around to doing anything with them beforehand. So this weekend I took some photos and today I’m sharing my thoughts on them with you.
Lighthouse Clothing is a brand that creates clothing especially targeted at people who love to be beside the sea. They create stylish weatherproof clothing to wear whilst running errands, going on a coastal walk or just enjoying everyday life. They believe in making life a little simpler by creating clothing that you don’t have to worry about and you can just enjoy the moment in. They believe that practical clothes should also be stylish and I think they’ve done a great job!
The first thing I chose is the Liliana Dress in Cloud Midnight Stripe *. This year was the year I really started wearing dresses and skirts and now I love them. I was always self conscious about my legs before, so didn’t wear them unless I had tights on, but this year something clicked and I actually like my legs now! This dress caught my eye straight away because it’s striped. I love anything with a stripe on and especially if it’s in blue or white. And it has pockets too!
The website has this really cool feature that let’s you go on and vote about the product once you’ve received it. So it has things like ‘Was the fit true to size?’ and you can vote yes or no. I think this is an ingenious idea, however it did make me hesitate before buying as a couple of people said this dress runs small. I stuck to my normal size though in the end ( a size 14) and I find it fits perfectly on me.
The quality of this dress is amazing. I’m so impressed by the material – it’s super soft and pretty thick too. None of the flimsy material you get on cheap dresses. It will be great in the summer, as it’s lightweight and the colour is perfect for picnics and pub visits. I can tell that this is going to last me a long time and will be able to withstand the weekly wash it’s going to have! It even has the cutest little logo on the breast. The material makes it perfect for wearing in the transitional seasons too, as it keeps you warm and toasty. I’d just put some black tights on with it to keep me warm and maybe some heeled black boots and a black jacket/coat. Perfect outfit for winter!
The next thing I picked up was this Ocean Shirt in Washed Denim *. I picked this up as I thought it would pair perfectly with the dress and I was right. It adds a touch of edginess to the outfit and paired with my white converse-esque pumps makes me feel like a skater girl. I love it! The denim is high quality and makes for a perfect throw on piece. I will mainly wear this as a jacket over tops and jeans/skirts/dresses, as I don’t really wear denim shirts as actual shirts – I just prefer them that way. I love how hardwearing this feels and know that this will last me for years. It’s a beautifully structured shirt and has washed well so far.
The last thing in my package was the Hannah Bobble Hat in Stone *. This is an addition to my very scarce hat collection. I never used to like wearing hats, but once again this year I’ve found my attitude towards them change and now I love them! I really feel like I’ve found my style this year and finally know what suits me. I loved adding his hat to my look as it really pulls everything together. I don’t know if it will be warm enough to wear just this outfit over the next few months, but once Spring starts to come around I know this will be my weekend uniform!
For now though I’ll stick to styling them separately for the winter. The hat is so thick and warm that I can already see this being a permanent fixture on my head this winter. I’m so glad I picked the grey and blue, as I have so many things in my wardrobe already that match it.
I’ve been really impressed with these bits from Lighthouse Clothing and I’d recommend going over and having a peek at their website. They’re very reasonably priced for the quality of the items and I’ve got my eye on some of their jumpers next! Maybe Santa will send me one for Christmas for being a good girl this year?! 😊
