Catching up at Basement Browns / AD

This review of Basement Brown’s is courtesy of a complimentary event. The company have not had any control of this post. All opinions are 100% my own.

I was very lucky to be invited back to Basement Browns last week to try out their menu with the Cov Bloggers again. I visited before on their invitation and you can read my first review here. I really enjoyed myself the first time I went, so was looking forward to visiting again! Pizza is one of my favourite foods (as you should all know by now! 🙂 ) so I was really excited.

I was one of the last to arrive out of our group and I quickly headed to our table. The place itself has a lovely rustic vibe to it, which makes you feel really relaxed and at home. We were welcomed by a lovely member of staff who explained how it all worked and then we perused the menu, trying to decide between all the amazing options. When you go up to the counter to order you can see them making your food behind, which is really cool. The kitchen is super clean and it’s fascinating to watch your pizza go into the big oven!

Now, on to the food! I had the Goat’s cheese and Sundried Tomato Individual pizza, skin on fries and a glass of rose wine. You can also choose to add on 6 toppings for free, or there are toppings that you can pay extra for too. I chose to add mushrooms, peppers and onions on to mine, which were part of the free toppings. I find the individual pizza and a side the perfect size meal for one person. It’s enough to make you feel full but it’s not too much that you feel uncomfortable after. They also do the Inbetweener, which would be perfect on it’s own for one person or a Family, which is great for sharing.

My pizza was divine! I really rate Basement Browns as a pizza place and I really want to make the effort to go there more when I’m in town. The goats cheese was cooked perfectly and the added mushrooms, peppers and onions really gave it that extra flavour. It was bloody delicious and I think that will be my go to pizza now whenever I go there! The skin on fries were really nice too, but I was a little disappointed that they didn’t have more skin on them. They were still really tasty, just not what I was expecting.

You can also get alcoholic drinks from there too. I had a rose and it was very nice and a couple of girls had cocktails and said they were really tasty too. They do happy hour every day from 3-7, where you can get 2 cocktails for £8.50. They also do a variety of soft drinks, hot drinks and milkshakes too.

We went on a Friday night and it wasn’t that busy, which is good. There were a few people in there, but it wasn’t packed and I much prefer a restaurant to be like this instead of it being rammed. We were able to sit and have a chat for a good couple of hours and we didn’t feel rushed or like we were intruding. It’s such a lovely place to catch up and relax with friends and also have some amazing food!

I’d definitely recommend a visit to Basement Browns if you’re in the area. They’re located just on High Street just opposite Halifax. The prices are really reasonable and they also have a Vegan menu, as well as catering for any allergies like gluten free or lactose intolerance. Thank you Basement Browns for a fun night out with delicious food!

    1. Yes, you don’t usually find goats cheese so much on pizzas, but it’s my fave!

  1. seems like a lovely restaurant with great pizza – might have to recommend this place to family members in the future as we’re massive pizza fans! thanks for sharing!

  2. The pizza picture grabbed my attention so I had to read this post. This looks lovely and I love the decor of the place, especially the ‘you had me at pizza’, just like your post! The food looks amazingly, if only this was closer to where I live.
