You guys know that I use a lot of Alexa Sky Botanicals products and I’m also an ambassador for them too, since the beginning of this year. I’ve liked all the products I’ve had from them and the new (to me) Cactus Fruit Eye Serum * is no exception. I’ve only been using this for a couple of weeks so these are just my first impressions, but read on to find out what I think!
The Cactus Fruit Eye Serum is aimed at brightening, lifting and firming the under eye area. It includes prickly pear, white poppy seed, camelia and black seed oil to nourish, firm, hydrate and sooth the under eye area. There’s also micro algae, galbanum and palmarosa to stimulate cell renewal and lift the skin as well as chamomile extract to brighten and de-puff. All of the ingredients are then charged with crystals to reinforce the ingredients and to also promote healthy wellbeing.
So far I’ve really enjoyed using this. It’s a bit of a strange one to describe though as it’s a serum but also feels a little like an oil to me. It’s pretty thick and doesn’t sink in very quickly, so I don’t use this in the morning underneath make up but I’ve been using it every night before bed and then letting it sink in while I sleep. I apply it with the handy little roller ball and then tap in the excess with my ring finger. The rollerball is great for depuffing, as it’s nice and cold on the skin and helps to calm the area. Such a nice extra to add in to my routine at night.
I actually love the way this brightens my under eye circles. After only a few days my dark circles were noticeably better and looked so much brighter. I was amazed to be honest! I wasn’t expecting to see any effects that quickly and was very pleasantly surprised. I love that it does all sink in overnight too and doesn’t just sit on the skin like some serums/oils. Especially around the eye area where the skin is thinner and things take longer to sink in. I think it’s actually working to firm the area too, although I can’t be 100% sure on this yet and I need to use it a little longer. My eye bags are definitely looking less puffy to me though.
I love the classically simple ASB design and it makes the product look pretty and sleek when on my dressing table. For £23 you can get a luxurious eye serum that will actually work and leaves your under eyes nourished, brightened and potentially firmed too. It’s a middle ground price tag and I’d be happy to pay that for this lovely eye serum.
Another great product from Alexa Sky Botanicals – they never fail to impress me with the quality of their natural products. Check out their website here and you can also see my other reviews of their products here.
