A few weeks ago I was lucky to be asked if I wanted to try some more bits from Tropic Skincare. I have quite a few skincare bits at the moment, so decided to try some of the makeup instead. I’ve seen a few people trying the palettes lately so I thought that would be a good idea!
I spent a little time building my Colour Palette *. There are so many colours and options to pick from that I’m sure most people will be able to find a combination that suits them. You can pick different size trays to fit inside the palette, making it perfectly customisable. For example, you can have Option A – 1 large and 6 small trays, Option B – 1 large, 1 medium and 4 small, Option C – 1 large, 2 medium and 2 small or Option D – 1 large and 3 medium. I chose Option C, as I wanted to have a mix of eyeshadows and cheek/face products.
Each palette has magnetic trays that snap into place and then the eyeshadows/blushers/concealers all snap magnetically into the trays. It’s a nice little setup that means it’s easier to interchange the makeup inside. That way you can always order more make up to go in the trays and keep switching it up.
I chose 2 Eyes On You Pressed Shadows: Cashew and Pebble. I thought these would work well together and I wanted something with a purple tone as purples really set my hazel eyes off. Then I chose Way To Go Pressed Highlighter in Afterglow and Jet Set Pressed Bronzer in Bali Bronze for the 2 medium trays. I wanted to put together something I could take away that had most of my eye and face products in one place. The last one I picked was the Blush Crush Pressed Colour in Sunkissed Orchid for the large palette.
The quality of the products is amazing! I must admit I wasn’t expecting them to be as good as they are with them being a green beauty brand – sometimes green brands don’t have quite the same quality pigment wise. But I’m happy to report that the colour pay off with these is brilliant. You only need the smallest amount of product on your brush and it’s easy to over do it. The lighter eyeshadow, Cashew, needs 2 layers to make it opaque but all the others need only a tiny bit!
The colours themselves are super pretty. Pebble is the most gorgeous purple shade, that compliments my eyes so well. It works great as a crease shade to deepen the eye colour. The blush, highlight and bronzer are also a great match for my skin. They really help to contour my face and give me cheekbones that I’ve never had!
I’m super impressed with this palette and I love how compact it is. I can’t wait to take this with me when I’m travelling and on holiday (let’s hope that I still get to go on holiday soon, thanks to the dreaded virus!) as it will save me so much room in my makeup bag. It’s also such great value for money at only £68 too, which I think is really good for nearly a whole makeup look.
I also picked out a lovely lipstick to go with the makeup look I created. Kiss Me Quick Lipstick in Plum Pout * is a pretty deep red/purple lipstick that works perfectly with the colours in the palette. I’m impressed how well they all work together. I love a bold lip so much more than a nude lip, so colours like this are my go to on a daily basis. I’ll get so much wear out of this.
It’s comfortable to wear and doesn’t dry out the lips. It’s a satin finish and because of that it does need to be topped up more than a matte lip product, but I still get a good few hours wear out of it without eating. It wears off evenly and layers really well too.
All in all I love the look I created with these products and they’re now firm favourites in my makeup routine. I’m so impressed with the packaging, quality, price point and everything else about these too! They’re brilliant products and I’d recommend that you take a look into picking them up. You won’t regret it I promise!
