Madara Soft Glow Foundation & Glossy Venom Lip Gloss Review / AD

This post contains gifted items from Love Lula which have been marked with *. The company have provided them for review but have not had any control of this post. All opinions are 100% my own.

This past month I’ve been trying out some new make up from Love Lula by Madara. I’ve tried a few Madara products thanks to the Love Lula Beauty Boxes and they’ve all been lovely, so when I saw that they had some more make up products I thought I’d try them out.

Madara Skin Equal Soft Glow Foundation in Rose Ivory * – £33.00

I’m so glad that I decided to pick this up. I wanted to try a new foundation that wasn’t too heavy, as we’re going into the summer months soon and I like to have a lighter base. I’d read a couple of reviews on this and people said that it was medium coverage, so it sounded like it would be exactly what I was looking for.

This is definitely a medium coverage and I find that I can either apply it with my fingers to create a lighter base (which has been my favourite way to wear it so far), or I get a heavier coverage by applying with a buffing brush. I’ve also layered it with my fingers and that works really well too. I have had it stick to dry patches a couple of times, so I always make sure to prime my skin really well when wearing this – I like to apply an oil just to the dry parts of my face before applying.

Rose Ivory is the perfect colour for me as it’s on the paler side but it has neutral/pink undertones. I love that Madara have catered for undertones in this range, as it’s really hard to find a foundation that caters to different undertones as well as colour. This suits me perfectly right now as I’m not very tan at the moment, and would be the perfect colour for winter.

I find that it gives me the perfect dewy base and it looks just like skin! It doesn’t look cakey or dry and doesn’t make me glow too much, but just evens out my tone and covers any blemishes easily. You really don’t need a lot to cover the whole face and I have a feeling this bottle will last me ages. This might just be the best natural foundation I’ve used so far!

It stays put most of the day on me, without any primer or powder. I only wear a thin layer and it’s still in place at around 3 o’clock when I’m at work. I find that it doesn’t last through a workout but that may be because I don’t have enough on to be honest. This isn’t a huge problem for me though, as I don’t mind my make up coming off when I workout, but if you like to wear make up to the gym this might not be for you.

Madara Glossy Venom Hydrating Lip Gloss in Vegan Red * – £19.00

I have to say that I was slightly disappointed in this. The lip gloss itself is really nice, but the colour wasn’t what I was expecting. On the model in the pictures it looks like a really vibrant red, which is what I was looking for, but when I wore it it only provided me with a slight red tint. I was definitely expecting more pigmentation. On the other hand it makes it great for wearing in the day as it’s not too bold and provides the slightest bit of colour to your lips.

The lip gloss formula is really good though. It’s not sticky and doesn’t leave your lips feeling thick with product. It’s easy to apply and dries down a little too so that it feels kind of like a balm after a few minutes – really comfortable. It doesn’t create a line round the inside of your lips either and it wears off pretty evenly. I find that it doesn’t last very long and if you eat and drink then it’s going to instantly disappear but most glosses do that anyway.

Overall a couple of great products from Madara. I would definitely buy the foundation again as this is one of my favourite products right now. The lip gloss is nice but I was just disappointed with this colour, so I think I’ll try a different colour next and see what that’s like.
