My New Favourite Natural Deodorant? / AD

This post contains gifted items from Love Lula which have been marked with *. The company have provided them for review but have not had any control of this post. All opinions are 100% my own.

The hunt for the perfect natural deodorant has been a long one. I’ve been searching for a few years now and I’ve intermittently gone back to a trusty Superdrug one in between when I get really fed up! But could the search finally be over??

Well, I’d say that I’ve definitely found one that I’m really happy with. I’ve been using the Neal’s Yard Remedies Lavender & Aloe Vera Deodorant * for around 3/4 weeks now and I’m impressed!

Neal’s Yard Remedies has always been a luxury brand to me. Their packaging is beautiful and their products use great ingredients. I’ve tried a few products before and have always liked them so was hoping it would be the same for their deodorant.

I’ve tried sprays before and I find that most of them aren’t as strong as a cream or roll on – I find that I can sometimes smell my sweat, but this one seems to keep any smell at bay really well. When I’ve just done a workout then I can smell myself a little but that’s to be expected. Other than that I find that it neutralises scents really well. The Lavender scent also sticks around for a while after being applied, giving off a nice floral scent for the day.

One thing to remember with natural deodorants is that they don’t stop you from sweating, they just work to neutralise odours, so you will still sweat with this on. I personally like that though and prefer not to have my sweat glands blocked by chemicals, so this isn’t a problem for me. The only thing that I don’t like is I find that it can sting my armpits a little after I’ve just shaved them sometimes. It’s not a lot and it goes away quickly (it’s not a reaction or anything) but considering it’s meant to be for sensitive skin I found that a little disappointing. I don’t really have sensitive skin either, so something to keep in mind if you do.

It’s in a glass bottle, which is great that it’s not plastic, but it is quite big so I’d say that it’s not too great for travelling unfortunately. I do love the luxurious feel of the packaging though and it looks like such a high end product on my dressing table.

You get 100ml for £8.50 which I think is a bargain for a natural deodorant. They also do a roll on, which I was tempted by but you only get 50ml in that and it’s £8.00 so not as good value for money. I think the search still continues for the perfect natural deodorant, but this one is a good stand in for now and has definitely become a favourite. If you have any recommendations for me please leave them below 🙂
